Crazy Taxi 3 looks better than the previous games in the series, which used simple textures in their 3D environments so the games could run at consistently fast frame rates. The game features enhanced versions of the West Coast and Small Apple levels, including better-looking textures on the buildings and reflections off car bodies and windshields. And all three of Crazy Taxi 3's driving levels have new special effects as you drive, like the new smoke trails behind your taxi when you perform a crazy dash and the new motion-blur effect on your taxi's chassis and headlights, which is most noticeable when making a sharp turn. Unfortunately, the new Glitter Oasis level, which begins on a busy thoroughfare that's supposed to resemble the Las Vegas strip, is a bit too busy. At certain points in the level, you'll run into some very nasty slowdown, especially if you try to perform a crazy dash or crazy hop in areas with lots of oncoming traffic or obstacles.

Just Imagine Crazy Taxi 1&2 with some improvements and new features. Hours of fun.

There's a great deal to do in Europa 1400, and you can choose to take part in all of it or just concentrate on the areas you like best.

Europa 1400 consists of several simple parts that add up to an interesting whole. On the surface it's a basic economic simulation. On a deeper level, it's a strategic game about politics and ambition. It's not really a role-playing game, but you have a character with statistics, and these statistics can be improved. Any element examined on its own would seem pretty skimpy, but together they make for an addictive and unique game.

Once you have a basic grasp of the game, however, Europa 1400 is great fun. You can choose to amass wealth, become a master of your chosen profession, gain rank in society, or any combination thereof. But first, you must start small. You pick a profession and get to work earning a meager living. The majority of professions are related to craftsmanship, such as carpentry, masonry, and blacksmithing. You can also choose to run more unusual businesses such as churches, apothecaries, or thieves' guilds. With the exception of the thieves' guild, all of the businesses produce items which you cart to the market and sell. At first, you'll want to manage your business, hiring employees and choosing what is produced. Later, as your responsibilities grow, you can hire someone to run your business for you.

When you have a bit of money, you can choose to make a name for yourself by courting a spouse and running for public office. The former is a simple task, requiring you to send the occasional gift and hope your chosen mate doesn't get married before she accepts your proposal. Once you're hitched, you and your significant other will produce offspring who can assume your responsibilities after your demise, provided you set aside some money for them and make sure they are educated.

Europa 1400 becomes exponentially more complicated as it goes along. As you expand your shop, or open new ones, you'll make more money and produce better items, but you'll also have added responsibilities. You can choose a new career at any point, and later in the game you can become a moneylender or purchase raw-goods shops, from which you can obtain cheaper materials for your prime goods, and you can even train mercenaries to waylay your competitors' trading carts.

FlatOut is destruction racing to the very core, throwing aside any superfluous story elements or anything similarly goofy for the sake of just making a pure arcade racer. When you first boot up the game, you're offered a career mode, a quick race, a time trial mode, and multiplayer. Career is where you'll spend much of your offline time and where you'll buy your first car. Initially, you're presented with a few decidedly slower vehicles, but as you move through the career mode, new classes will unlock and each one will get progressively faster. Plus, you can buy tune-ups for each ride that improve speed, horsepower, traction, braking, and all the other usual upgradable stats you'd find in a racing game. The career mode is really just a long series of races within different circuits: bronze, silver, and gold. You don't even necessarily have to win each and every race to unlock the next circuit, but you do have to place at least third in all of them to make sure you earn a medal. Placing higher will earn you more cash, which you can subsequently use to buy more tune-ups and cars, but you can usually earn enough money just by earning a medal. While this way of doing things does shorten the experience a bit (not having to win every single race), there are nearly 40 races in all, so there's always the bonus races to keep you busy.

Heritage of Kings: The Settlers marks the return of the 11-year-old Settlers franchise. This fifth game in the series comes after a four-year hiatus, and on the surface, much has changed. The campaign in Heritage of Kings tells the story of your character, Dario, as he attempts to unify the land and reclaim his rightly throne. As the lost prince of this story, it's his job to prove to the people that he's a good steward by defeating the forces of the evil and restoring the land. In addition to the various spearmen, swordsmen, archers, and cavalry that he can recruit, Dario is accompanied by various hero units, each with his or her own special powers and abilities. This all falls fairly well into the familiar real-time-strategy formula.

Where Heritage of Kings differs from most RTS games is in its focus. In most RTS games, you usually start a level with a fair bit of building and end it with a lot of combat. But in Heritage of Kings, the ratio is more like 90 percent building and 10 percent combat. This keeps in line with the earlier Settlers games, as the series has always been more about medieval city building than Command & Conquer. As such, your goal is to build a sprawling, interdependent web of buildings, where workers and peasants go about their daily lives. It's a very charming and engaging formula.

Basically, you start off with a more or less random deck of cards consisting of monster cards, spell cards, trap cards, and special summon cards. The monster cards can be used to attack your opponent's monster cards or, if your opponent has no monster cards in play, to attack him or her directly, with the ultimate goal of taking all your opponent's hit points before he or she can do the same to you. Spell and trap cards serve a variety of different offensive and defensive purposes, such as upping the statistics of your monster cards, destroying one of your opponent's cards, counteracting your opponent's move, or fusing two monsters into a third, more powerful monster. Most monsters can be brought directly into play from your hand, though certain monsters require a summon card to be played before they can be brought into action.

Winning duels will net you new cards, and you can go into the game's deck construction mode to manage what cards you have that you want to use in your active playing deck. To the end of re-creating the collectible card game, Power of Chaos is quite successful

No, they didn't make another lousy Blade game. It's BloodRayne, that other half-human, half-vampire hunter of bloodsuckers everywhere. The original BloodRayne game debuted in 2002. You controlled the heroine, Rayne--a busty, redheaded alternative to Wesley Snipes' comic book-inspired vampire hunter--as she hunted down Nazis, vampires, and Nazi vampires in the 1930s. The game featured a fairly straightforward story and style of gameplay that, while not spectacular, proved to be a pretty entertaining experience for fans of comic book-style action games. BloodRayne 2, the suitably named sequel, punches up the stylish action of its predecessor, giving Rayne a whole new slew of enemies to chop up, as well as a whole host of new ways in which to do it. BloodRayne 2 hit the Xbox and PS2 late last year to reasonable acclaim, and now, 10 months later, the game has come to the PC.
